6th Urban and Regional Research Network (URRN) Symposium

FROM REAL ESTATE-LED GROWTH TO PRODUCTION-BASED GROWTH

As is well known, the KBAM Symposia are organized annually to provide a platform for knowledge exchange among researchers working in the fields of urban and regional studies and to facilitate the dissemination of research findings. The papers presented at these symposia are published in a conference proceedings volume. With the exception of the 1st KBAM Symposium, all of these events have received financial support from TÜBİTAK, enabling the proceedings to be printed and distributed free of charge to participants.

This year, applications to TÜBİTAK’s Domestic Scientific Event Support Program were suspended for three months while the program underwent restructuring and reopened in August. According to the revised funding requirements, supported events must be held after 28 September 2015.

In light of these developments, and in order to apply for TÜBİTAK funding so that the symposium could be organized without charging participation fees and the proceedings volume could continue to be distributed free of charge, it was decided to postpone the 6th KBAM Symposium. The new dates for the symposium were set as 8–9 October 2015.

We apologize for this change and hope that the revised dates will not prevent your participation in the symposium.

Publication

Selected papers presented at the symposium will be published in the journals Planlama, İdealkent, and Eskiz following a peer-review process. Papers that fall outside the scope of these journals will also undergo a peer-review process and will be published in an edited book.
